Why Minamo Exists

Not to make more instruments, but to keep creating instruments that reach someone deeply and become part of their life.

When I first started Minamo Guitars, part of me believed that growth meant making more instruments and sending them to more places.

However, as I continued building and selling instruments, and watched them move through different forms of distribution, I gradually began to question something.

An instrument leaving the workshop.

An instrument being delivered to a dealer.

An instrument becoming a sale on paper.

Is that alone enough to say that its value has truly been delivered?

I believe the true value of an instrument begins when it reaches the hands of a player and becomes part of their music and their life.

Why I Limit the Number of Instruments I Build

Minamo Guitars instruments are essentially built by one person, from design and woodworking to finishing, assembly, and final setup.

To take responsibility for each instrument and maintain a level of quality I can truly stand behind requires time.

Creating something meaningful also requires more than the time spent carrying out each process.

It requires room to pause, think, experiment, and explore new possibilities.

Limiting production is not a way to create artificial scarcity.

It is a choice that allows me to approach each instrument with honesty, protect both quality and creativity, and continue building for many years to come.

Why I Value Direct Orders

I do not believe a custom order should simply be a matter of selecting specifications from a prepared list.

What kind of music does the player make?

How do they play?

What do they feel is missing from their current instrument?

What kind of instrument do they truly need for the path ahead?

By speaking directly with a player, I can understand the background and intentions that cannot be seen on a specification sheet alone.

Dealers, of course, play an important role in connecting instruments with players.

At the same time, one of the core values of Minamo Guitars is to communicate directly with players whenever possible and discover the right form of each instrument together.

What Begins After Delivery

The relationship does not end when an instrument is completed and delivered.

Some things only become clear after the player has spent time performing, practising, and living with the instrument.

New ideas may emerge, and changes in music or playing environment may create new needs.

Through continued consultation, adjustments, and additional work whenever possible, I hope to remain connected to the journey shared by each player and their instrument.

An instrument’s story does not end when it leaves the workshop.

It begins when it reaches the hands of the player.

To Grow Deeper, Not Bigger

I do not want to measure the success of Minamo Guitars only by the number of instruments produced or shipped.

What matters is whose hands each instrument reaches, how it is used, and what kind of presence it becomes in that person’s life.

Even if the number is small, I want each instrument to reach someone deeply.

Rather than expanding quickly, I want to remain in a state where I can continue building throughout my life with curiosity, care, and passion.

Rather than making the brand bigger, I want to make it deeper, little by little.

That is the path Minamo Guitars intends to follow.
