My name is Ryosuke Masuda, and I support Minamo Guitars as an international communicator, assisting with interpretation, overseas customer communication, and international inquiries.

 

From our latest accomplishments at NAMM 2026, I supported Mr. Miyazaki on-site as an interpreter, assisting with specification explanations, customer communication, and sales support.

 

I will also help with international inquiries and communication between overseas customers and Minamo Guitars.My connection with Mr. Miyazaki and Minamo Guitars began when a friend invited me to try some of their basses.

 

It was our first time meeting in person, and we also realized we came from the same hometown. The S2 5-string model I tried during that first meeting left a very strong impression on me. Its clear note definition, responsiveness, clean and open sustain, and excellent body balance all stood out, as did how comfortably I could move from the lower to higher positions.

 

As an electric bass player myself, I was deeply impressed. The more I listened to Mr. Miyazaki speak about his attention to detail and his approach to instrument making, the more I found myself understanding and appreciating his work from a player’s perspective.

 

For as long as I have known him, he gives the impression of being polite and gentle in the way he interacts with people, while also having a clear and steady core when it comes to building instruments.

 

We often use English when supporting customers for Minamo Guitars. I learned these skills of communication on my own after graduating from high school and starting work as a company employee.

 

My first motivation to learn the language was a simple admiration for the language and a desire, as a bass player, to access more information and music from overseas. I visited local international communities, asked foreign coworkers to help me practice conversation, and gradually developed my English through real communication with people.

 

At a previous industrial company, I also gained experience in sales support, interpreting, and visiting overseas business partners. Having used English not only in daily conversation, but also to handle technical topics and on-site explanations including my experiences abroad.

 

I became deeply interested in South Indian classical music, especially its rhythmic language. From late 2024 to early 2025, I studied Konnakkol under Shri S. Swaminathan in Chennai, India, through the guru-shishya tradition. This experience became an important opportunity not only to study music, but also to learn how to engage with different cultures and values. I believe that this experience helped me communicate about instruments’ specifications and the special nuances that are unique to each instrument and music.

 

In this role, I bring together my experience as a bass player, my English and interpreting background, and the cross-cultural perspective I have gained through studying in India and living in the United States.

 

I aim to provide smooth, reliable, and thoughtful support so that the appeal of Minamo Guitars and the spirit of Mr. Miyazaki’s craftsmanship can be communicated clearly to customers overseas.
